Description
Mar 7, 2015 - The precursor of the fountain pen, steel-tipped dip nib pens first implemented the capillary channels. For the latter half of the 19th century, these were the main writing tools. Now, they are mainly used in calligraphy, comics and illustrations. There is no ink reservoir so the user had to 'recharge ' the pen by dipping it in ink, similar to quills. They can also be recharged with eyedroppers or syringes. The advantage, over both quill and reed pen, is that there is no sharpening required.
