Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pad: 12 Pages, 360 gsm, Paperback – Perfect Paper Company
Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pads are made within the Clairefontaine paper mill in Meurthe, France. The pads contain 12 pages of long natural unbleached virgin fibres, making this paper 100% natural and bio-degradable. It is also PEFC certified from sourced, recyclable materials so it is very eco-friendly and has a unique mechanical strength and flexibility. The sheets are pH neutral and acid-free. Each page is 360gsm and is a very high-quality paper for pastels, charcoal, pencils and all mixed-media as it retains pigments well. The paper is cork grained which gives a fine-tooth finish. We have two pads on offer with each containing three sheets of four different colours; No.1 - maize, buttercup, light grey and dark grey. No.2 - white, sienna, brown and anthracite.
The Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pads are cut-edge which provides a clean edge to the paper. The cover is paperback with a cardboard back to provide a harder surface to work on. This paper has the added bonus of being gentle on both fingers and blending tools and you can rub out areas of pastel or wet the paper and it will retain colours. It is a thin book and perfect for pastel work.
